This week you should be hard at work on your creative book project. This project must be related to your independent book, show great effort and be interactive.  Due on Friday!

10/18 Make-up work! Only one week left in this grading period!

10/17 HW #20 Complete Typed Book Report Helper

Use the book report helper you have completed to type up a book report that gives the reader a specific understanding of your independent book.  Make sure your book report is in paragraph form, in 12 pt. font, double-spaced and PRINTED before class.

10/16 and 10/15 HW #19 Complete all vignettes

You must complete the following:

• Any remaining edits to "My Name"
• First draft or edits (if you have received them) to "Home Sweet Home"
• First draft or edits (if you have received them) to Vignette 3

REMEMBER, ALL VIGNETTES MUST USE SPECIFIC DETAILS AND AT LEAST 4 ELEMENTS OF STYLE!!

10/11 Study for vocab quiz!

Use your crossword to study for tomorrow's quiz!  No grammar review, just know spelling and definitions for the words...and remember to memorize your quote!

10/10 HW #17 Vignette 3, typed draft

Review the vignettes you liked in THOMS.  Choose any one of them to serve as your example or model to write a new vignette about the people, places and experiences in your life. For example, you could describe a particular person who is in your neighborhood or you could discuss a time of great fun or sadness in your family.

Draft must be at least 8 sentences, typed, double-spaced and include 4 examples of the Elements of Style.

10/9 HW #16 Complete your "Home Sweet Home" vignette

Use THOMS to help you write your own vignette about your home, neighborhood or community. Be sure to include at least four different Elements of Style!

10/5 HW #15 Read A LOT! And complete book report helper

You should be getting close to finishing your IRP.  Spend a good amount of time reading and complete as much as you can of the book report helper provided in class.  Here is the link to the handout if you need it.

10/4 Read for at least 30 minute and complete make-up work!

10/3 Make-up work and prep for Simile/Metaphor/Sensory Details Quiz

If you need to retake your vocab quiz, study so you are ready to take it at lunch.

10/2 Study for quiz tomorrow on metaphor/simile/sensory details

Be sure you can correctly write 3 metaphors, 3 similes, and 3 descriptions that use the senses.
