You were each given an assignment to redo to either meet the original directions or to improve what you had initially.  This assignment is due tomorrow.

You can work on any other make-up work, as well.

HW #11 Bring in two color pictures (magazine or newspaper images) and read your IRP

We will work on a specific assignment using images you bring in, so bringing in interesting pics would be important.

HW #10 Read your IRP and complete week 4 (wkst and type)

You should be finishing your IRP in the next 2 weeks, so spend time reading this weekend, and complete the week 4 response. You must complete the worksheet (both sides) provided in class and then use that to type your completed response.

HW #9 Four-stanza typed poem, following rhyme scheme of "Stopping by Woods on Snowy Evening"

Use our lesson about rhyme scheme (the pattern of rhyming in a poem) and the attached handout to write a 4-stanza poem, at least 16 lines total.  You must follow the rhyme scheme of Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening"

HW for 1/15 Make up work; Read your IRP (30 min-1 hr.)

HW #6 Freestyle poem, 10 lines, single-spaced, typed

Use the circled/starred words from the English packet to create a poem, at least 10 lines long.

HW #5: Walk poem (10 lines)

Use the images you gathered from your walk today.  Type a 10-line, single spaced poem that uses those images.  Your images must be very specific (concrete).

HW #4 Metaphor/simile worksheet

Complete the metaphor/simile worksheet we started in class. You must write your answers on a separate sheet of paper or type, and follow all three steps.

HW for 1/8: Finish Nanowrimo edits and read your IRP

HW #3 Complete your typed list poem

Follow the directions on the handout from class to complete a typed, single-spaced list poem about 2013-14.

Since this is a short session (just 6 weeks), you will need to choose and get a copy of your independent book quickly. You must have your book to show me on Monday, along with your IRP week 1 (worksheet and typed paragraph).

Choose a book you can complete reading in 4 weeks.
